You can tell this isn’t a virtual background because the sun is right in my face! But I couldn’t resist filming outside on this beautiful day.
As a highly sensitive mover, I’ve always felt life intensely—not just mentally, but also through muscle, breath, posture, movement, and tension. For years, my own sensitivity felt like “too much,” that I should feel differently, essentially be a different person. I’ve now learned to not only accept my high sensitivity, but to appreciate it and love it.
And now I work with it instead of against it. That shift is a powerful change.
Today, I help highly sensitive dancers reconnect with their body in the present moment and undo tension habits that create pain, stiffness, and overwhelm. I do this through the lens of the Alexander Technique, which is a practical, everyday way to soften old patterns, calm the nervous system, and move with fluidity and ease.
As a highly sensitive dancer yourself, you’ve carried artistry, nuance, and discipline in your body for decades. You’re wired for observation, depth, and detail—more than most people ever notice. But over time, the very sensitivity that made you expressive onstage can morph into anticipation, bracing, holding, and fear of “making things worse.”
